PLAYER AUCTION & BIDDING RULES

**Auction Points Allocation:**

Each team owner will be allocated a 300,000 HPLT20 points purse for the auction.

**Icon Player Privilege:**

Each Team will be allocated 2 ICON players by the HPLT20 team pre auction. The draft price for all icon players will be set equal post the team player auction at 10% premium to the most expensive player of the auction as benchmark for retention fee for future seasons.

Team owners have the privilege of selecting one Icon player for their team without utilizing any auction points.

**Player Quota:**

Every team must comprise between a minimum of 18 players and a maximum of 24 players including the ICON players i.e. it is ok to draft 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 or 22 players of your allocated 300,000 HPLT20 points in HPLT20 2024.

** Player Starting Bid:**
The starting bid for Home Players in the auction is set at 500 points.

The starting bid for Away Players in the auction is set at 1000 points.

**Points Shortage Contingency:**

In the event of a shortage of points, a team owner has the option to drop their highest bid player at half the price. For example, if PlayerA was initially sold for 10,000 points, and the team faces a shortage, dropping PlayerA would yield 5,000 points. These points can then be utilized to acquire additional players. However, the dropped player becomes available for auction again, starting at ½ purchased points i.e. 5000 points. The team cannot repurchase the dropped player.

**Owner-Player Participation:**

If one or more team owners are registered as players, they can only play for their own team at a cost of 10,000 points per player, pre-deducted from the team’s starting point purse. The owner cannot drop themselves for points, even if they are the highest bid player. The highest non-owner bid player can be dropped per **Points Shortage Contingency**

**Player Commitment:**

Players are bound to play only for the team they are selected to during the auction. There is no provision for players to switch teams, and drop out of the tournament.

If a player is proven and thereby declared ill or injured for rest of the season and the team had not used up all 24 of their draft slots and their points purse at auction, they can draft a player from the remaining pool at 50% of the points of the ill or injured player, or the player in draft pool’s base price, whichever is the least.

**Bid Increments:**

Bids during the auction must be raised in increments of hundreds till 1500 points, then 250 points till 2500 points and then by 500 points till bid win.

**Unused Points Policy:**

Unused HPL points hold no value and cannot be carried over or redeemed. They can only be used when a player is proven and declared ill or injured and a replacement is to be drafted from the draft pool.

It is imperative that players adhere to the specified rules and guidelines to ensure fair and transparent HPLT20 processes.
