TEAM OWNERSHIP GUIDELINES

**Application Procedure:**

Prospective team owners seeking participation in the HPL must complete the Team Ownership Registration Form before February 29, 2024.

**Registration Fee:**

   A non-refundable Team Ownership Registration Fee of $250 must accompany the application submission.


**Ownership Bidding:**

   The commencement of ownership bidding initiates with a minimum bid of $12,000

  1. **Champion’s Reward:**

   The HPLT20 Champion stands to win a grand prize.

  1. **Exclusive Advertisement Opportunities:**

   Team owners benefit from exclusive advertising opportunities on the HPLT20 website and the team jersey 

  1. **Branding Presence:**

   – The owner’s logo will prominently feature on respective team uniforms.

   – The owner’s logo will be showcased on the Cricket field boundary.

   – The owner’s logo will be showcased on all HPLT20 team marketing material.

  1. **Online Visibility:**

   – Inclusion on the official HPL website [http://www.hplt20.cricket ].

   – Recognition across HPL social media platforms (Facebook / Instagram).

  1. **Special Events Access:**

   – Invitation to the prestigious HPLT20 Gala Night.

   – Invitation to the prestigious HPLT20 Award ceremony.q

   – Receipt of ownership T-shirts (5) 

   – Receipt of complimentary Gala Night tickets (10).

   – Receipt of complementary HPLT20 Award ceremony tickets (10).

  1. ** ICON PLAYERS:**

Each team will have announced 2 ICON players pre- team ownership bidding.

  1. ** RETENTION RULES:**

 

**Team Ownership Retention Options:**

Owners of HPLT20 2024 teams are expected to retain their team ownership for HPLT20 2024 for next 2 seasons with a year-on-year 10% premium on the HPLT20 2024 purchase price.

 

**Illustration:**

For instance, if Mr. Joe owns THREE CHOPT THUNDERS in 2024 for $30,000, retaining the team for the next two HPLT20 seasons requires a payment of $33,000 & $36,300 respectively 30 days before the respective season’s Gala Night. The intention to retain or not retain the team ownership must be declared by 30th January of the respective season year.

In case the owner does not want to own the team ownership, they can sell the team ownership rights to another entity in consultation with the HPLT20 core team, ensuring that HPLT20 organization receives the minimum due for the team ownership rights. If the team owner sells the team for higher than the minimum required ownership fee for the season, then HPLT20 team receives 10% of the additional delta i.e. if the HPLT20 team ownership due for year 3 is $36,300 for the above illustrated team, and owner sells the rights for $40,300; then HPLT20 team receives $36,700 ($36,300+$400).

 

**Player Retention Options:**

   In the event of the same owner retaining a team, the following player retention options apply:

  • The two ICON players may be retained for every year the team has announced owners by January 30th of the season year by matching the auctioned (pre-decided) price of the players and the sum total of the two being deducted from the  year’s auction kitty.
  • Three additional players may be retained by deducting 110% of the previous season’s auctioned price from the year’s auction kitty.

**Auction Details:**

  • Team Ownership Auction for HPLT20 2024 is scheduled for March 27, 2024

Specific details concerning the  HPLT20 2024 auction will be communicated to the entities registering with interest for team ownership

  • Player Ownership Auction for HPLT20 2024 is scheduled for April 17, 2024

Specific details of  HPLT20 2024 player auction will be shared with Team Owners once they win the respective team ownership bids.
